Please read the device warranty before buying a Dr.pen’s, PMU pen’s or devices with a Built-In battery.

Cordless Dr.pen’s, PMU Pen’s or devices with built in batteries are not recommended for salon use!  Devices or pen’s that have separate batteries will not be covered by warranty as batteries can deplete with overcharging and extensive use.  These built-in batteries can easily be overcharged and battery will be depleted overtime.  (How to know your battery is depleted : device will come on but will not work).

Charging time should be +-20min or until the light turns green on the pen or device – do not operate the pen while the pen is charging as this will also deplete the battery.

WARRANTY!

In the event of Product defect or malfunction under normal use by user following the manufacturer’s guidelines.  Any defects caused by the user ie:- overcharging of the battery, electric current connection default, dropping the unit or miss use of the device, user attempting to dismantle and repair, all such cases will void Warranty. Please note all Dr.pen’, PMU pen’s or devices that have built-in batteries will deplete overtime when continuously overcharged. Pen’s with built in batteries cannot be used while charging this will deplete the battery and the pen will die.  Pens or devices with built-in batteries – these batteries cannot be replaced.  Batteries are not included in the Warranty.

Derma Roller Systems suggests you ensure your pen device against all risks.

All our pen’s have a 6 month Warranty offered by Derma Roller Systems provided the above criteria is adhered to in this period.

What is the bayonet part of a Dr. Pen?

The bayonet on a Dr. Pen refers to the twist-lock connection mechanism at the front of the pen where the needle cartridge attaches.

In simple terms:
👉 it’s the locking mount that holds the cartridge securely in place.

How it works

  • The cartridge is inserted into the front of the Dr. Pen
  • You push in and twist (usually clockwise)
  • The bayonet fitting locks the cartridge so it won’t wobble or come loose during treatment

This system is called a bayonet lock (also known as a bayonet mount).

Why the bayonet is important

✔ Keeps the cartridge stable and aligned
✔ Ensures consistent needle depth
✔ Prevents cartridge movement during microneedling
✔ Allows quick, hygienic cartridge changes

Is the bayonet part replaceable?

  • The bayonet itself is part of the pen’s internal housing
  • It is not a consumable and not normally user-replaceable
  • Damage to the bayonet usually occurs from:
    • Forcing cartridges
    • Using non-compatible cartridges
    • Cross-threading or twisting incorrectly

Damage to the bayonet mount is not typically covered under warranty, as it’s considered misuse.

Common customer questions:

  • “My cartridge won’t lock” → bayonet tabs may be damaged
  • “The cartridge feels loose” → worn or cracked bayonet mount
  • “Are all Dr. Pen cartridges the same?” → No, bayonet compatibility varies by model

Accidental Damage & Handling

Handle Your Dr. Pen with Care

Your Dr. Pen is a precision device. Dropping, hitting, or applying excessive force can cause serious damage to the internal components, even if the device powers on.

What Happens if the Pen is Dropped?

  • Needle Mechanism Damage: The motor or cam drive that moves the needles may misalign, causing the needles to stop moving or function inconsistently.
  • Bayonet / Cartridge Mount Damage: The twist-lock bayonet can crack or bend, making cartridges loose or unusable.
  • Internal Electronics Damage: Circuit boards may shift or short-circuit, leading to erratic behavior or device failure.
  • Battery Damage: Built-in rechargeable batteries may shift or become unsafe if the device is dropped hard.
  • Cosmetic Damage: Cracks, dents, or scratches may appear on the casing. While cosmetic damage may not affect performance, it can void your warranty if internal components are exposed.

Warranty Considerations

  • Accidental damage, including drops, impacts, or misuse, is not covered under warranty.
  • Warranty only applies to manufacturing defects under normal use, so repairs for drops or other accidental damage are at the customer’s expense.

Tips to Protect Your Dr. Pen

  1. Always store the pen in its protective case when not in use.
  2. Avoid using the pen near hard surfaces or edges.
  3. Never press excessively on the device while microneedling.
  4. Ensure the pen is placed on a stable surface while charging.
  5. Keep away from children or pets.

Client-Friendly FAQ

“Dropping your Dr. Pen can damage the needles, motor, bayonet, or battery. The device may still turn on, but needle movement can be affected. Accidental damage is not covered under warranty, so please handle your device with care.”

“⚠ Handle with care – accidental drops may damage the device and void your warranty.”

Dr. Pen Troubleshooting FAQ

1. My Dr. Pen turns on but the needles are not moving. What should I do?

This is a common issue and usually happens because the motor is running but the needle mechanism isn’t engaged. Try the following:

  1. Check the cartridge fit: Remove and reattach the cartridge, ensuring it is fully pushed in and twisted to lock into the bayonet.
  2. Confirm cartridge compatibility: Only use cartridges that match your Dr. Pen model (M8, A6, A11, etc.).
  3. Check the battery: Fully charge your device — a low battery may power lights but not enough for needle oscillation.
  4. Test with a new cartridge: A faulty cartridge may prevent needles from moving.
  5. Internal drive issue: If the problem persists, the internal motor or drive mechanism may be damaged and require repair or replacement.

2. The device is not turning on at all.

  • Ensure the battery is fully charged.
  • Check the charging cable and adapter are functional.
  • Make sure the pen is not locked in “child safety” or standby mode.
  • If it still does not turn on, the battery or internal electronics may be defective.

3. The device is vibrating but working inconsistently.

  • This may happen if the battery is weak or old. Recharge fully or replace the battery (if user-replaceable).
  • Make sure the cartridge is correctly seated and compatible.
  • Avoid using the pen at very low charge levels.

4. The needles are stuck or uneven.

  • Check for foreign debris or hardened residue inside the cartridge.
  • Replace the cartridge if bent needles are visible.
  • Ensure the pen is not being pressed too hard against the skin — microneedles need to move freely.

5. The pen is making unusual noises.

  • Slight motor hum is normal, but grinding or rattling may indicate internal damage.
  • Stop using the device and contact support for inspection.

6. My Dr. Pen isn’t holding a charge or battery drains quickly.

  • Fully charge the device using the official charger.
  • If the battery is old, internal battery degradation may reduce runtime — this is normal for rechargeable lithium batteries.
  • Devices with built-in internal batteries typically have a 6-month warranty on battery faults.

7. How do I know if my cartridge is compatible?

  • Check the model number of your Dr. Pen.
  • Use only cartridges labeled for that model.
  • Non-compatible cartridges may not fit the bayonet or move properly.

8. Can I fix needle or motor issues myself?

  • No. Do not attempt to open the device — this will void your warranty and can damage the pen.
  • For faults, always contact our official support team for guidance or repair options.

9. Warranty & Support

  • All Dr. Pen devices include a 6-month limited warranty for defects in materials or workmanship.
  • Damage from misuse, incorrect cartridge use, or accidental drops is not covered.
