iBeauty Pen 2

The iBeautypen® is specially designed for professional needling. Its robust performance and high hygiene standard perfectly meet the practice of professionals such as dermatologists and beauticians. The automated needling makes it possible to create up to max 2600 micro channels per second with precision skin needling control. The treatment is much more efficient and much less painful than the traditional needling.

The iBeauty pen creates temporary micro channels in a controlled way. These ‘injuries’ are sufficient to initiate the wound-healing-cascade. There are three basic phases to illustrate how micro-needling works:

Phase 1:
Activated by drilling through the dermal tissue, platelets release cytokines and growth factors that act as signals for the body’s immune system. Neutrophils and macrophage cells are sent in to disinfect the wounds, clean up the debcris, increase blood supply (a process called angiogenesis) and begin creating fresh, new cellular and extracellular materials (the granulation process).

Phase 2:
In this phase, the fibroblasts (cells that form a large part of the dermis and form the extracellular matrix) continue to divide keratinocytes and epidermal cells to populate the damaged areas and separate growth factors and extracellular matrix, such as elastin and collagen.

Phase 3:
At this stage, the wound has been replaced by new dermal tissues and the newly formed vascular system has now matured. The collagen in the newly formed tissue is now replaced by the stronger collagen and the tissue contracts to cause a “shrink film” effect of the skin.
